Zen and My Office Cleaning Project

I once joked on another blog that this is what my office looks like. Well, it wasn't that much of a stretch, actually. In fact, I might be able to find an old picture of my desk somewhere on my computer. Hang on and I'll check.

I'm sorry. There's no picture there. I could have sworn there was one, but I probably deleted it out of shame.

Anyway, I've decided that I'm going to started a project to clean my office, using the guidance that I gave myself here. It's only five minutes a day. I know I can do this. One piece of crap paper at a time.

And I'll post pictures on a regular basis, as soon as my husband reads this and realizes I'm serious. Ha ha ha ...

That'll teach me. Ha ha ha ... #iamfoolish

Solitude

Last week, I'd planned to post to this blog, but couldn't due to a power outage. Rather than run around looking for a place with electricity and wi-fi, simply to slap something up on this blog, I stayed home and read. Frankly, I think it was a better use of my time. And I respect my readers too much to post crap on this blog for the sake of posting crap.

The first thing I'd like to tell you about is a Kickstarter project, Adventure Wear. I think this is particularly awesome, because I'm about to undergo my own adventure. My husband and I are going to Ireland and the UK, this month. You can read all about what I've been doing and what I will be doing in my monthly column.

Having said that, I believe that as a culture, we need to distinguish being busy from simply doing things to look good to others or to feel better about ourselves. That's the point of this opinion piece.

There's nothing wrong with simply being. After all, we're all just human beings, right? Enjoy life, while you can. Seek solitude.
